Climate change is a fact of life that all citizens of the world must face. The evidence is overwhelming that temperatures are increasing world-wide, despite denials from vested interests. The real question is how much human activities are influencing the situations. After reading the article about climate change facts, what is your opinion? Support it with facts from the article.
I think human activities should be blamed for most of the climate changes. Obviously climate is going to change regardless but we are changing it twice as fast with greenhouse gasses. Just about every motorized vehicle emits CO2. Garbage dumps will just keep being made and filled. Unless we find a way to quit making synthetic things and burning fossil fuels for energy then we probably will keep ripping holes in the atmosphere until we get incinerated from the rising temperature.

ReplyDeleteThe earth's climate has changed of its own accord for millions of years. However, recent human activity has been and will be affecting the climate in years to come.
Humans release greenhouse gases in their everyday lives. These greenhouse gases cause, as the text says, climate forcings.
While greenhouse gases only make up about one percent of the earth's atmosphere, that one percent is essential to climate change factors because they absorb heat into the atmosphere. Because the release of greenhouse gases has increased over the past few hundred years due to industry development and increasing populations, more heat is being absorbed.
Humans release carbon dioxide on a daily basis during respiration. Because the population is increasing, more of this is being released into the air while we simply exist. Methane is created in garbage dumps, and we humans love our trash. Humans create halocarbons, which are harmful greenhouse gases when the ozone layer is involved.
Greenhouse gases trap heat in the atmosphere. Because the heat can not escape, I assume this leads to contribution to climate change.
Humans release greenhouse gases via daily burning of fossil fuels. every day. We power our cars, homes, schools, computers, etc... without any real thought as to what it's doing to the world.
I think human activity has a great deal of potential to cause major climate change. In my opinion, the evidence is undeniable. I agree with the article when it says we must consider what measures to take to adjust to these changes and reduce the release of greenhouse gases
I always thought that global warming is not the right word for these climate changes, reason for this is because global warming is refered to the world temperature rising, and we are not just having a rising in temperature we are having more like more sever storms, more tornadoes and hurricanes.
ReplyDeleteIts not just only in the heat of the summer, the winter is getting colder and having more snowfall, in places that usually have temperatures in the winter of 30s-40s now can get between 10s-20s.
Renee bush - My opinion on climate change is that human activity is the main reason why we have climate change. Humans litter and release greenhouse gasses, but the article said that the climate also changes on its own. Because of the earth's rotation, the temperatures will sometimes increase and decrease. By all means, humans releasing greenhouse gasses also makes the temperatures increase and decrease. Some believe that carbon dioxide is the main greenhouse gas released by human activity. So I would agree with the blog.
ReplyDeletemy opinion is that we caused this upon ourselves trying to advance ourselves in this world we are ruining our world by all the crap we do but i think we need to have times where we dont try to advance and give mother nature time to readjust then try to advance some little at a time not all in like we are now which will kill us in the future just sayin
ReplyDeleteWhen I was first taught about "Global Warming" was in 6th grade. The blog I just read was the stuff i sort of already knew but with more added to it. I understand we change the Earth just by every little thing we do that involve landscape changing and digging deep into the Earth. As the Earth grows, we do too, but because of it we end up just hurting the Earth and its amosphere. Therefore, causing us to worry and get hotter everyday. So ever since I learned about "Global Warming" I've always wanted to "Go Green" but just never but any effort into it.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion the changes for the climate are mostly caused by man, releasing the greenhouse gases into our ozone layer on a constant basis. With the heat waves being absorbed by the clouds themselves and them forcefully pushed in all directions, theres not too good of a chance of it actually escaping. Now, as for global warming, I don't believe that's necessiarily the same thing. The Earth's climate changes nearly every year for each season different than the last, our winter's have been getting colder, as for our summer's getting warmer as time passes by. Global warming is in my opinion half caused by man, and half caused from the Earth itself, our cloud's absorb the heat that is released all too easily, and it doesn't get that great of an easy chance to escape. Though we are not the only species on the planet to be taking part in practically destroying our ozone layer, cows and other animals have a tendancy to release methane gases as well, which are categorized under greenhouse gases.
I mean we have been putting much more carbon dioxide out then what is needed. When we breath we take oxygen in and release carbon dioxide. We have big plants that let off bad gases into our ozone layer and we create garbage dumps, but the earth isnt so innocent either. The earth has many ways of also putting off these greenhouse gases. This is real and it is happening, but what we does in this world witll affect the speed of it. Sea levels will eventually rise, the summers will get hotter, and the winters will get colder if we can not figure out a safer haven for earth.
ReplyDeleteThe climate change fact sheets explains the facts behind global warming and in my opinion a lot of the spreading of global warming is caused by humans. When we go about our everyday lives we are greatly contributing to green house gases from our cars, our food and how we make it and even little things such as aresol cans.We produce a lot of carbon dioxide when we drive and by making small switches such as carpooling, riding a bike, or walking we can reduce the amount of carbon dioxed emmisions. How we make our food also greatly contributes to the spreding of green house gases such as methane and nitruos oxide because we plant and use chemical fertilizers and manure and that spreds it. we spred even more because the liuvestock we raise for meat products spred methane naturally and by raising large amounts of livestock we increase the amount of gas that is being produced. I think that the counties and their associates that are working on programs in order to help work towarsd slowing down the production of greenhouse gases are doing a good thing in trying to help save our planet.
ReplyDeleteI believe climate change is evident. The emmissions of human technology were never a bigger problem than they are now. Up until the 20th century, people didn't have cars and countless factories that released gasses into the atmosphere. The ozone layer was not threatened by the many emissions we produce today. The good news is that the world is trying to become more eco-friendly by producing "green" alternatives to the machines that deplete the ozone layer. We can't go back and patch up the tear we have already created in the ozone layer, but we can help prevent it from becoming a larger and more threatening problem.
ReplyDeleteI think we humans are the reason for climate change to be changing so rapidly. With all of the green houses; "burn fossil fuels to heat our homes, run our cars, produce electricity, and
ReplyDeletemanufacture all sorts of products" I think we should find more efficient ways to get what we need. And not destroy the ozone layer. I believe there are better ways out there that can even improve what it is that we destroy the ozone layer with. Yes, we can't fully stop climate change, but we can stop it from changing so fast.
There is no question that the Earth's climate is changing. That is indisputable fact. The question lies in whether or not humans are the main contributing factor. It seems, given the evidence, that the change is being caused by humans.
ReplyDeleteFor hundreds of thousands of years, the Earth's climate managed to keep in balance, despite the varying cycles of the sun and many geologic factors. A noticable overall change did not occur until about the time that humans began the industrial revolution. At that point the climate began to change far more than it had in recorded history. The change has continued to increase exponentially with the advance of modern technology and manufacturing. This correlation is too close to ignore. Humans have caused the change.
Climate change to me is weather changing or something changing with the environment. Either weather or something new with the atmoshpere. Landforms, as if they change. Undersea ground levels, how rain can turn to sunshine, etc.
ReplyDeleteHaleigh Kendrick, 5th mod. I believe that humans are mostly responsible for climate change in the world. I think all of the gasoline and electrical refineries play a big part in the climate change. I do not believe that we are the only ones causing it. In my opionion, I think there is something going on in the world that we have yet to find that is causing it. I only think that because it has been happening for a long period of time. Maybe the reason it has gotten so worse in the past 50-60 years is because of us, but before that there was something already causing it. I think it makes a lot of sense that the roof tops/ aspalht could create a temperature change in the bigger cities because the black and the stuff in it does attract heat. As far as the volcanoes letting off aerosols into the sky, that has been happening for millions of years and if that were the main cause I don't understand why it would have escalated so high lately. I do not believe anyone will ever figure out the main cause of climate change, only because there are so many factors that play apart in what could be causing it.
ReplyDeleteNathan Moss 4th Mod: Im my oppinion i think we cause this upon oursleves. We tried to grow up too fast in this world and now its biting us in the butt. We cut down tress yet we dont replant most of them. We need to back off the production line and give the world time to heal. We did this to oursleves.
